SIVECO’s eLearning solution offers Omani pupils and teachers access to digital educational content

Bucharest, 20th June 2012 –  A new international recognition for SIVECO Romania comes from Oman – the company’s eLearning solution was awarded by the Oman Ministry of Education, being appreciated as extremely useful in the process of modernizing Omani education.

The award ceremony took place last week in Muscat and highlighted private companies and institutions with a key role in supporting educational projects.

The project for which SIVECO was recognized is based on a strategic initiative of the Oman Ministry of Education and was implemented, in a first phase, in the 2010-2011 academic year within the Thuraya Al Busaeediya school for girls in Muscat,  with the solution set to be adopted on a national level later on. The evaluation results of the pilot project are positive: it  improved the involvement level of pupils during classes, transforming the educational process into an enjoyable experience for both pupils and teachers.

Within the project, SIVECO provided 120 interactive educational objects for primary schools and high-schools, localized and mapped on the local curriculum for mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry. The AeL system was installed and teachers were trained for the optimal use of the implemented instruments.

“We are proud that we could join the Oman Ministry of Education for this project and that we were able to help the teachers over there hold their lessons in a way that is unique and attractive to pupils, in a virtual, secure environment. This way, children can experience natural phenomena and discover, right in their classrooms, the surrounding world,” stated Irina Socol, President and CEO SIVECO Romania.

SIVECO Romania is an active player in the Gulf Area, successfully running ample modernization projects for the educational systems in the United Arab Emirates, Kuweit, Bahrain, Oman, as well as countries from Europe, North Africa and the CIS area.
